Rarely do I find paintings that inspire as much awe and wonder as those
of Geoffrey Johnson. Stylistically he is in a category all his own.
As originality goes, he is on a different level then most painters.
His art transforms the common place into something quite extraordinary.
At once it is both simple and complex. I fear that there is very
little I can say to properly convey the imagery that comes across in
Geoffrey's works.
Triceratops is my personal favorite of Geoffrey's works that I have
seen. A wall sized spectacle that is more than a show stopper.
From the cold contemplation of the dark coated museum patron to the
skeletal remainder of the once proud and powerful creature this work
speaks of the talent of the originator. Most artists would be hard
pressed to depict such a scene with a full palette. To convey such a
strong image using a sepia technique is wondrous.

I challenge you to visit the Shain Gallery of Charlotte to personally
view the works of Geoffrey Johnson. If you are a true art lover, it
is a must see. If you are an art collector, then he becomes a must
buy.
