Beantown Tavern |
|
| It was a cold day last January when I first went to Beantown Tavern. I was walking down Matthews Station Dr. exploring the shops along the way after a visit to the b brown gallery. As I walked by the space at the end of the drive, which I had believed to be vacant, I noticed activity inside. After peering through the windows for a better look, I informed my companion that it looked like a bar inside, perhaps a restaurant. As I looked closer I could see a hand beaconing me inside. I walked to the door to be greeted by a man I would later learn was Donnie Gaskin, the new owner of The Beantown Tavern. Donnie told us that he was not yet open for business and as such could not sell us a beer.......then with a big smile he said " But I can certainly give you a few". Well, we entered that day for our first beverage at Donnie's place and I have been going back ever since. I am a lover of fine food, fine spirits and fine entertainment. I am happy to say that the Beantown Tavern excels at providing all three. It is no secret that I provide as much advertising for the Beantown Tavern as possible. As a critic, some would say that this is a conflict of interests. I would however argue that as a critic, as a lover of fine food, it is in my interests to promote this establishment to the best of my ability. If you love something, and you want it to be there for you , you promote it. Well, I never want to awaken to a day when I can not get a Beantown Crab cake. I encourage all my readers to take an afternoon for lunch at Beantown, and an evening for a dinner. If you really want to see good entertainment, then take an entire evening and enjoy some of the areas hottest bands and entertainers. If you are lucky, you may even hear me sing. So go, Eat, Drink, Enjoy.......Live. Beantown Awaits. |
