This is a medium-bodied blend of Merlot and Tempranillo with fresh fruit and ripe tannins. The color is a deep ruby garnet from the well-ripened fruits. Flavors include blackberry and plum. The aroma and flavor also benefit from an array of spices including cloves, cinnamon, vanilla and pepper. Despite an extended barrel aging of 6 months in American "barriques" I find it to have a bit of an acidic bite. Suggested pairings include roast duck and chicken.
