SweeTea's Bakery and Tea Room

Recently on my way through downtown Monroe, I spotted a new bakery.  As I had not eaten yet, I stopped in to check out their wares. I was very pleased by my visit and the wonderful delights I took home.  Honestly there was more there than I could possibly try at one time, but I did try anyway.  I took home a box of baklava, a couple cream horns, a chocolate cheesecake slice, a strawberry pound cake parfait, and not one but two glasses of sweet tea.  They were all delicious and the tea was incredibly refreshing.  Marie informed me that the great thing about the tea was that there was no high fructose corn syrup to sweeten it.  Just plain sugar.  Fantastic for me, I could have had a gallon or two that day as the summer heat was terrible.

On a later return trip I got a couple of her fresh baked croissants, and a cherry danish for my son.  Again both were incredibly good.  The atmosphere is so friendly inside Maries "SweeTea's Bakery and Tea Room", that you don't want to leave.

Marie is located at 215 E. Franklin Street, Monroe North Carolina.  Her hours of operation are very extensive, even being open until 11pm some nights.
