Sogrape Tinto Reserva Douro |
|
|
This full bodied wine is bright red in color with a ripe fruit bouquet. Seemingly well balanced with slight acidity and fine tannins. It is a delight to drink. The finish is somewhat soft yet lingering. Fermented in French oak barrels before being aged in new oak for one year, this wine then undergoes numerous tastings and strict selection before being bottled and sent to market. Sogrape Reserva Douro is made from traditional red varietals such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz(tempranillo) and Tinta Barroca. These varietals do very well and have been harvested in the Douro Valley of Portugal for centuries. I highly recommend it with red meats, pheasant, duck and bold chorizo.
