One
of the most remarkable artists I have had the pleasure to review is
Geoffrey Johnson. The 37 year old native Carolinian was born in Greensboro
NC. With a spartan palette he is able to convey images and ideas that are
quite luxurious. Using a "sepia", almost monochromatic style Geoffrey
challenges us to see the world through his interpretation. He achieves
this truly remarkable task with seeming ease.
Geoffrey is known to take on as many as
ten projects at the same time from his suburban Atlanta studio. His
interest in art dates back to the 3rd grade where a fellow classmate's
comic drawings inspired him. Geoffrey as won many art awards including The
Campbell Soup Company Scholarship, and the Morris Blackburn Landscape
Award.
His works can be seen in person at the Shain Gallery, Charlotte NC.
